Janice Heller has a passion for helping people gain insights and clarity on the steps necessary to achieve their dreams and goals.

I have had the great opportunity of working in several of Boston’s major companies including:
– Intel
– EMC Corporation
– Putnam Investments
 Digital Equipment Corporation

Through the years I have gained a broad framework and developed concepts about careers, personal satisfaction and professional growth. Whether it’s about leadership challenges, career choices, or organizational transitions, I enjoy making a difference in helping people move forward through their life journeys.

A key strength is my ability to listen deeply and intuitively to help clients identify concerns, challenges, strengths and goals. I take a pragmatic and practical approach, having coached and counseled a broad range of individuals over the years to:
– explore career directions
– enhance leadership capabilities
– resolve potential work conflicts
– clarify personal life goals
– identify their role and skills as organizations change

I have a Master’s in Counseling and have done post-graduate work in organizational development studies at MIT Sloan School of Management. I have led a variety of workshops and training programs on change, gaining managerial skills/knowledge and clarifying career and life paths.

In a career journey, we may experience several pathways and detours during a lifetime. This often leads to a question such as “how do I find my passion or fulfilling work?” Having gone through numerous changes and detours myself, and observed the journeys of others, I changed my thinking and embraced those changes. Instead of thinking about what job I wanted, I re-framed my approach and focused on identifying my core skills, knowledge and interests. It made such a difference in my ability to better manage my career journey in a changing world.

In our work together, we’ll identify your core skills, knowledge and interests. Sometimes, people find their passion through their interests, and this leads to new career ideas. We can explore how to expand those interests to other career opportunities.

Personally, volunteering has always been an important aspect of my life – a key way to give back, from Girl Scout projects to charity walks to fundraising for special causes. Through volunteering I’m able to utilize my skills and knowledge in different ways. Two special volunteer activities in which I participate are the Pan Mass Challenge, which raises funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts, and Operation Elf, a non-profit organization that provides holiday gifts for children who are in transitional living situations.
