About

Janice Heller has a passion for helping people gain insights and clarity on the steps necessary to achieve their dreams and goals.

In a career journey, we may experience several pathways, transitions, and detours during a lifetime. This often leads to questions such as “how do I find my passion or fulfilling work?” or to feelings of “stuckness” and confusion on how to move forward.

I am passionate about making a difference, and helping you move forward through life’s transitions. Perhaps you’re a recent grad and not sure what direction to take, or at mid-career wondering how to move to the next step, or later in your career and starting to wonder about changing life priorities.

With over 30 years of experience, I can help you discover and develop the framework, understanding, and tools to manage your journey. This includes an approach that integrates identifying your unique skills, strengths, and interests, and clarifying what leads to your personal satisfaction and growth.

A key strength is my ability to listen deeply and intuitively to help you identify concerns, challenges, strengths and goals. I take a pragmatic and practical approach, having coached and counseled a broad range of individuals in:
– exploring career directions
– clarifying personal life goals
– enhancing leadership capabilities
– resolving potential work conflicts
– identifying roles and skills as organizations change

Whether it’s about career and life choices, leadership challenges, or organizational transitions, I enjoy helping people achieve their dreams, goals and objectives.

Early in my life, I had the idea that I would find the “right” job, and then stay with it for the rest of my life. Well that didn’t happen! Having gone through the traditional job search several times, and observed the journeys of others, I started to question this process. I began to explore and look for other ways to find “the right job.” I re-framed my approach and focused on identifying key skills, knowledge, and interests, and then looked for opportunities where I could apply them. It made such a difference in my ability to connect with the work I enjoy, and has helped me manage my career journey in a changing world.

Let’s move forward together on the pathway to your success! Our work can help produce new insights and expanded options, and identify specific actions to move you in your desired direction.

I have a Master’s in Counseling and post-graduate work in organizational development studies at MIT Sloan School of Management. Through the years, I’ve led a variety of workshops and training programs on clarifying career and life paths, change and transition, and gaining managerial skills/knowledge. I have had the great opportunity of working in several of Boston’s major companies as a Human Resources professional including:
– Intel
– EMC Corporation
– Putnam Investments
– Digital Equipment Corporation

Personally, volunteering has always been an important aspect of my life – a key way to give back, from Girl Scout projects to charity walks to fundraising for special causes. Through volunteering I’m able to utilize my skills and knowledge in different ways. Two special volunteer activities in which I participate are the Pan Mass Challenge, which raises funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts, and Operation Elf, a non-profit organization that provides holiday gifts for children who are in transitional living situations.
